Faith of our fathers, living still,
In spite of dungeon, fire and sword;
O how our hearts beat high with joy
Whenever we hear that glorious Word!
Faith of our fathers, holy faith!
We will be true to thee till death.

Our fathers, chained in prisons dark,
Were still in heart and conscience free:
How sweet would be their children’s fate.
If they, like them, could die for thee!

Please notice that the 3rd Verse above was left completely out of the SDA Hymnal! My question is, WHY?! Do our church leaders want to placate the Catholic leadership by removing our passion for sharing the Truth?

In other words, the faith of our fathers still lives in our hearts despite the dungeons, fires, and swords we might face!
O how our hearts beat high with joy
Whenever we hear that glorious Word!
