Behold The Bridegroom Cometh!
This title is taken from the story Jesus told about the five wise and five foolish virgins. I’ve pasted the story below for your review.
"1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:
4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.
6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.
7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.
9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.
10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.
12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.
13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh."
Matthew 25:1-13 KJV
It Is Midnight!
I have news for you! It is midnight! The cry is going out right now! If you have any doubt that it is midnight, then all I can say is that you must be fast asleep! Better wake up NOW!
It is midnight when most SDAs don’t think of keeping the Sabbath Day holy, as wearing their wedding ring! It is midnight when most SDAs keep the Sabbath Day holy to make sure they make it to heaven rather than because they’re in love with Jesus! It is midnight when most SDAs keep their mouths shut when they have an opportunity to witness to a neighbor or a fellow shopper. It is midnight when most SDAs can’t tell if their prayers are heard or not! And it is definitely midnight when about 50% of SDAs believe in something closer to Evolution than the Genesis account of Creation! (Sorry about your mangled toes!)
Remember I Love You!
Just remember that I’m enthusiastically jumping on your toes right now because I love you! I really want you to be in Heaven with me! If you don’t have a personal relationship with Jesus that “feels real” to you, then you don’t have a single second to waste! Do you know what four things Satan has attacked most viciously since Adam and Eve? You should! These four things give you a roadmap to Satan’s plans!
- The Law Of God (Cheap Grace)
- The Sabbath (Evolution)
- Marriage
- Righteousness By Faith (Anything Except Overcoming)
We can see how Satan has attacked God’s Law in both the first chapter of Desire of Ages and throughout the book The Great Controversy. Most often these days, it is attacked by modern Protestant denominations by replacing the whole Law of God with Grace! But if you accept this doctrine, then you are also implying that Jesus didn’t need to die on the cross! He died for our sins! But if there’s no Law, then there’s no sin and NO reason to die!
The only Sabbath day supported by the Bible is the “seventh day of the week,” or Saturday, NOT Sunday! You can see obvious evidence for this in the document “Rome’s Challenge.” Satan has used the Theory of Evolution to undermine the true Sabbath, as well as the Papacy, to induce Protestant denominations to worship on Sunday, rather than Saturday. In this way, they are acknowledging the supremacy of the Papacy above both God and the Bible!
Satan’s attack on the institution of marriage is apparent! Both the LGBTQ+ movement and Satan’s goal of separating husbands from their wives in divorce are part of Satan’s arsenal.
Where is Righteousness By Faith (RBF) found? John 14, Revelation, Steps To Christ, Desire of Ages, The Great Controversy, to name just a few resources! Faith AND Works Simplified, What Is Loyalty?, and A Message Of Love And Hope are some other articles I’ve written on this subject.
Satan’s attack on RBF begins with the idea that nobody CAN keep the Law of God! But this idea comes straight from Satan! This was his original claim against the fairness of God! It is possible to keep God’s Law perfectly by the strength that God provides to each believer. Jesus proved this fact by living a perfect life according to God’s Law, while trapped in a 100% human body and living in a sinful world!
"Satan represents God’s law of love as a law of selfishness. He declares that it is impossible for us to obey its precepts. The fall of our first parents, with all the woe that has resulted, he charges upon the Creator, leading men to look upon God as the author of sin, and suffering, and death. Jesus was to unveil this deception. As one of us He was to give an example of obedience. For this He took upon Himself our nature, and passed through our experiences. “In all things it behooved Him to be made like unto His brethren.” Hebrews 2:17. If we had to bear anything which Jesus did not endure, then upon this point Satan would represent the power of God as insufficient for us. Therefore Jesus was “in all points tempted like as we are.” Hebrews 4:15. He endured every trial to which we are subject. And He exercised in His own behalf no power that is not freely offered to us. As man, He met temptation, and overcame in the strength given Him from God. He says, “I delight to do Thy will, O My God: yea, Thy law is within My heart.” Psalm 40:8. As He went about doing good, and healing all who were afflicted by Satan, He made plain to men the character of God’s law and the nature of His service. His life testifies that it is possible for us also to obey the law of God."
Desire of Ages, by Ellen White, page 24
This point cannot be any clearer! So why do we fall so often? Because our old, sinful nature gains control over our minds, and we choose to sin! God’s promises have never failed! We have chosen not to trust them!
"13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way of escape, that ye may be able to bear it."
1 Corinthians 10:13 KJV
"God’s promise is, “Ye shall seek Me, and find Me, when ye shall search for Me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:13.
The whole heart must be yielded to God, or the change can never be wrought in us by which we are to be restored to His likeness. By nature we are alienated from God. The Holy Spirit describes our
condition in such words as these: “Dead in trespasses and sins;” “the whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint;” “no soundness in it.” We are held fast in the snare of Satan, “taken captive by him at his will.” Ephesians 2:1; Isaiah 1:5, 6; 2 Timothy 2:26. God desires to heal us, to set us free. But since this requires an entire transformation, a renewing of our whole nature, we must yield ourselves wholly to Him.
The warfare against self is the greatest battle that was ever fought. The yielding of self, surrendering all to the will of God, requires a struggle; but the soul must submit to God before it can be renewed in holiness."
Steps To Christ, by Ellen White, pages 42, 43
