Melchizedek Kings And Priests
This song is based mostly on 1 Peter 2:1-10 KJV.
Melchizedek Kings And Priests
Verse 1
Lay aside all malice and lies,
Hypocrisy and evil things.
Desire the milk of God’s Word,
To grow and mature for Jesus.
Chorus
You’re a chosen generation,
The peculiar people of God,
Brought into His marvelous light,
To be Kings and Priests for your King!
Verse 2
Come to Jesus the Living Stone,
Although rejected by mankind,
You know that He’s a living stone,
Precious and approved by Father.
Chorus
You’re a chosen generation,
The peculiar people of God,
Brought into His marvelous light,
To be Kings and Priests for your King!
Verse 3
You as living stones are built up,
Into God’s own Holy Temple,
Sacrifice to God by Jesus,
Accepted by His Grace alone!
Chorus
You’re a chosen generation,
The peculiar people of God,
Brought into His marvelous light,
To be Kings and Priests for your King!
Verse 4
Show the Father’s praise to the world,
Because you are now God’s people!
In the Melchizedek Order,
Working for Jesus in the world!
Chorus (2x)
You’re a chosen generation,
The peculiar people of God,
Brought into His marvelous light,
To be Kings and Priests for your King!
Ending
Brought into His marvelous light,
To be Kings and Priests for your King!
"1 Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings,
2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:
3 If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.
4 To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious,
5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
6 Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.
7 Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,
8 And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.
9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;
10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy."
1 Peter 2:1-10 KJV
"1 The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.
2 The Lord shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies.
3 Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth.
4 The Lord hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek".
Psalms 110:1-4 KJV
"17 Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath:
18 That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:
19 Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;
20 Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec".
Hebrews 6:17-20 KJV
So, from these Bible references we know that Jesus is the High Priest of the Melchizedek Order. We know from 1 Peter 2:5, 9 that we are all called by God to be Melchizedek kings and priests with Jesus Christ! Is there any higher honor than this calling? I don’t think so!
In view of the “Melchizedek Message” what should we be doing with our lives during the short time we have left before the Second Coming of Jesus? Should we focus on spreading the Gospel? Should we do our best to overcome our sins by choosing to do God’s will?
