The Great Mercy Of God!
The more I get to know God personally, the more amazed I become at His Great Mercy! But that mercy is quickly coming to an end! And this is what we need to discuss, my friend, before it is forever too late!

What Does The Bible Say?
"1 This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:
2 That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:
3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;
16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.
17 Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.
18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen."
2 Peter 3:1-18 KJV
Do You Hunger For The Truth?
This article is for those who have a sincere hunger for THE TRUTH! This is a very serious Bible study! Are you ready, my friend? Better get out your notepad and Bible! We have a great deal of ground to cover! I’m not going to tell you where we’re headed for the moment. I want you to be a little bit surprised! So, pay attention, think about what you’re reading, take notes, and pray!
Please notice the phrases in bold in the Bible reference above. Now you have a “homework assignment”! Use your favorite online Bible for the King James Version and use the search phrase “the day of the Lord” using the double quotes around it. You should see 20 search results! Write down each of these references and read the surrounding verses to make sure you understand the context of each one.
Have you finished this task? Good! By now, it should be very obvious to you that this phrase refers to the Second Coming of Jesus back to this Earth. There is also a third coming of Jesus to the Earth, but we will cover that later. And what will happen at the Second Coming of Jesus to this Earth?
Jesus will not be staying to reign over the Earth! No, He is on a rescue mission to save His persecuted people from the wicked people who are ruling the Earth! The brightness of His glory will be a “consuming fire” to the wicked! No life will be left on this Earth when Jesus takes His people to Heaven! (Except for Satan, aka Lucifer, and the evil angels who followed him).
So why do many Protestant denominations now teach that Jesus will reign on the Earth for 1,000 years of peace? Because Satan has misled them to believe in that nonsense! Satan plans to appear as Jesus Christ BEFORE the actual return of Christ! And it will make his story more convincing if people are led to believe this particular erroneous teaching! It will prepare them to accept him (Satan) as Jesus Christ!
"31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
33 They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?
34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.
35 And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever.
36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed."
John 8:31-36 KJV
What Is The Word?
What is Jesus’ Word? The Bible, of course! From Genesis to Revelation, the Bible is the Word Of God…and Jesus IS GOD! See John chapter One! So Jesus is saying that if you continue to study the Bible, you will know more and more truth, and that truth will “set you free,” both from sin and deceptions! How will you be “set free” from deceptions? There is no deception in the Truth! How much is this promise worth to you? Is it worth enough to spend a little more time studying the Bible?
How Much Time Is Left?
Do you want to be ready for the Second Coming of Jesus? How much time is left for us to prepare for that event? The answer is VERY VERY LITTLE!!! And there’s one crucial FACT that you need to remember: “You can only take two things to Heaven: Your character and your friends!” So, your character development is a crucial thing to consider!
How can your character change? Only God can bring about that change! But you CAN choose to do God’s will instead of your own! You can consider the fact that Jesus paid for you on the Cross! You can choose to belong to Him! You can bring honor to His name in all that you do and say! And as your love for Him grows, you can demonstrate your love for Him by keeping the Ten Commandments!
"9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father?
10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.
20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.
21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him."
John 14:9-21 KJV
Please notice that in verse 15 above, Jesus refers to “my commandments”! That means the ones that He wrote with His finger! The ones He spoke about many times during His life on Earth! You can find these in Exodus 20:3-17 KJV
Also, notice that the natural result of keeping those commandments is the gift of the Holy Spirit! So what “spirit” do churches have that teach that the Ten Commandments were “nailed to the Cross”? It is NOT the Holy Spirit, but demons (Satan and other evil angels) pretending to be the “holy spirit”!
How Much Time Is Left?
OK, now how close is the Second Coming of Jesus?
"35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
37 But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be."
Matthew 24:35-37 KJV
Nobody knows the exact date or time of Jesus’ return, but Jesus said we would know when it was near!
7 And they asked him, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? and what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass?
8 And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.
9 But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by.
10 Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:
11 And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.
12 But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake.
13 And it shall turn to you for a testimony.
14 Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer:
15 For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.
16 And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death.
17 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake.
18 But there shall not an hair of your head perish.
19 In your patience possess ye your souls.
20 And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.
21 Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.
22 For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.
23 But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.
24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.
25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;
26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
29 And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees;
30 When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand.
31 So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand."
Luke 21:7-31 KJV
The Great Disappointment Was Reasonable!
I want to review some history now to show that God has already given the “requisite” 6,000 years for Satan to prove his accusations against God. The first 6,000 years of Earth’s history ended in 1844 AD. The Millerite movement taught this fact as part of their message in the years leading up to 1844! They knew this by calculating the number of years with the genealogies listed in the Bible.
Therefore, expecting Jesus to return on October 22, 1844, was entirely reasonable! It did not happen, but it was “reasonable” for them to expect Jesus to return then!
How many years has it been since 1844? Exactly 80 since October 22, 2024! And how many years did it take for the Israelites to enter Canaan after they left Egypt? Again…80 years! A “Time of Trouble” still has not yet occurred but could happen quickly! All conditions needed to fulfill the Time of Trouble are already “in place”!
No Time Setting!
Ellen White recommended that we not “set a specific time” when we expect Jesus to return. But it is high time we understood that it could come VERY QUICKLY at this point! It could begin happening “any day now”!
What if we add 44 to 1844? That would bring us to 1888. Did anything significant happen in that year? Why yes, Elder A.T. Jones and E.J. Waggoner presented the message of “Righteousness By Faith” to the General Conference SDA Camp Meeting attendees that year! And what did Ellen White say in 1892, just 4 years later? “We could have been in the kingdom ere this!” This means that we could have finished our mission in just four short years if we had accepted the message of Righteousness By Faith and learned from it.
And much like ancient Israel, we chose to wander through the desert for another 40 years or so!
So, you could say that the Second Coming of Christ is 80 years “overdue”! That means that every day from this point forward is “precious” because it points to God’s Great Mercy in allowing us more time to prepare for Jesus’ arrival!
"1 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.
2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.
3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.
4 But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased."
Daniel 12:1-4 KJV
Is knowledge increased? AI has now surpassed human intelligence! Yes, knowledge is increased! Do men run to and fro? Yes! And more needlessly than ever before!
1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:
4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.
6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.
7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.
9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.
10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.
12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.
13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh."
Matthew 25:1-13 KJV
