A Villain Is Born | Mystery Called Love

One of the most chilling passages in the Bible is in Isaiah 14, where Lucifer, the leading angel in heaven, says to himself, I will ascend into heaven. I will exalt my throne above the stars of God. I will be like the Most High.

A Challenge To God’s Law

This is the first record of a being challenging the law and love of God. And Lucifer’s ideas spread throughout the heavenly host until a third of the angels were sympathizing with his rebellion. At this point, it seems like the next step would be for God to quell the rebellion and destroy its leaders.

God Is Different

Throughout history, we see leaders trying to take their opponents out by either defaming their character or destroying their person. But like we spoke about in the last episode, God is a God of love, not force. Instead of destroying Lucifer, the Bible records that God cast him out of heaven, along with the rebellious angels.

It’s crazy that God’s love was big enough to allow his defiant angel the choice to rebel. God took the risk to prove that love could exist and could conquer.

A Mystery Called Love

Verse 1
A thrill of awesome wonder sweeps o'er the angel choir
From each celestial voice the Father's praise resounds
But In the heart of covering Cher'b iniquity is found.

Verse 2
Through realms of heaven's glory this note of discord sounds
Questioning the character, the law of Adonai
Will God, where love and deity dwell, angelic hosts defy?

Chorus
It's a mystery called love, A choice from above
That places in our hands the freedom to decide
Divinity chose risk to prove that love can e'er exist
And over sin forevermore preside!

Verse 3
Rebellion sounds it's anthem and evil cries for war
God's character on trial before the timeless throng
But love unveils as Father and Son compose redemption's song!

It's a Mystery called love!

So let’s shift our focus from the rebellion in heaven to the situation on earth Where we see Adam and Eve now presented with a choice of their own How would they respond to the love of God?
