Good Bible Study Lessons
Good Bible Study Lessons will always guide the student to make logical decisions about what the Bible actually teaches! This may seem obvious to you, but consider the fact that there are over 440 different Protestant denominations today! Why is there so much doctrinal confusion? That confusion is no accident. It is the result of Satan making sure that there are plenty of denominations to choose from which all have some truth, but also have some errors. Satan’s objective is to lead people down the path to destruction! When Satan can get people to believe something about God which implies God is evil, then he is happy!
Many Doctrines Are Wrong!
Many popular Protestant denominations teach either mistaken or incomplete doctrines. And this is because they do NOT teach the lessons according to what the Bible really says!
A good example of this is the teaching that hell burns people alive forever! The Bible does NOT teach “everlasting hell”. But people often misinterpret the Bible! And this doctrine clearly implies that God is evil, because it does not take into account how much suffering is “deserved” by each occupant! It also implies that God is evil because He enjoys torturing people! And this doctrine also has a very undesirable effect on those who believe it and still go to church.
The effect is that they cannot learn to love God the Father as much as they love Jesus. In reality God’s love “awakens” real love in the believer’s heart. But the doctrine of everlasting hell permanently blocks that love relationship! Church becomes more of a “club” than anything else.
Biblical accuracy is very important as you design your Bible Study Series!
Some verses talk about “everlasting fire,” but this term is also used in reference to Sodom and Gomorrah. And we know that those cities are NOT still burning! The word “everlasting” implies that the fire cannot be “put out” until it has finished burning all of the things that God wants it to burn! And the results are permanent. It does not mean that the fire burns forever.
