The Dragon And The Beast

The Bible’s Book of Revelation describes the “dragon” in Revelation 12 and a “beast” in Chapter 13. Are they both the same? They both have seven heads and 10 horns. And in Revelation 13:2, the Bible says that the “dragon gave him his seat and great authority!”

The Dragon Is Satan!

We know that the “dragon” represents Satan himself because Revelation 12:9 says so in plain English! There is some evidence that the dragon and the beast are two different entities. However, please note that both the dragon and the beast have seven heads and ten horns, they both speak blasphemies against God, and they share many common characteristics and goals.

Dragon And Beast Are One!

Why do they both share these attributes? Because they are “one” in their character, thinking, and goals! Just like the Bible talks about the Godhead being 3 in one, the dragon and the beast are also one! They may be separate entities, but they are one in their character, thoughts, and goals!

The study of Revelation just got more fun for me! Let’s see if we can identify the exact similarities and differences, okay?

But Separate Entities!

Okay, Revelation 13:4 confirms that the dragon and the beast are separate entities because they are mentioned in the same verse, along with some information about their relationship.

In the two pictures, you can see some differences between the dragon and the beast. They look slightly different, but their character, thoughts, and goals are the same!

And what are those thoughts and goals? Please study the two pictures below:

There are many other artistic examples of the word ‘coexist’ in different formats and colors, but I think these two are the best. In one, the letter “e” stands for evolution; in the other, it stands for E = mc² or “science.” In both cases, the meaning is the same since the theory of Evolution is now considered science.

But the letter “T” at the end of coexist does NOT represent Christianity! It represents the Catholic version of Christianity, but that is not real Christianity! Jesus clearly stated that the ONLY way to God is through Himself, not through a priest, the pope, Mary, or any other saint!

So, where do your thoughts take place? In your head! So the dragon and the beast have seven heads and experience the same thoughts! What are those thoughts? They are clearly illustrated in the pictures above, representing the word “coexist!”

It has ever been the goal of Satan to use the false religions of the world to lead people away from God. The same is true of the “coexist” movement. And it wouldn’t surprise me to learn that the papacy sponsors this movement.

Satan has a “counterfeit” for every good thing that God has created, and the “coexist movement” is no exception. It is the counterfeit of the seven “spirits of God” represented by the seven churches in Revelation 2 and 3 and the seven-branched lamp stand found in Revelation 1:10-20.

False Religions!

The mission of Jesus Christ is to convert all the people depicted in the word “coexist” to genuine Christianity and to forsake those other false systems of worship! Yes, science that promotes the “big bang” and “Evolution” is “science falsely so called” according to 1 Timothy 6:20 KJV. And false science is no different than a false religion. False science is based on an emotional need not to believe in God and has a foundation of imaginary evidence that has nothing to do with reality or actual science.

It is vital to notice that the Beast in Revelation 13 differs from the Dragon in Revelation 12. The Beast in Revelation 13 comprises ideas from three primary historical cultures: Babylonian, Grecian, and Medo-Persian. This is why the Beast has seven heads that look like lions (Babylon), bodies like leopards (Greece), and feet like bears (Medo-Persia). However, it should also be noted that these two monsters both have seven heads and ten horns! This indicates they think the same way and have the same character and goals!

Since they both persecuted God’s followers for the same period (1260 years), they were working together as a single unit!

1 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.

2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.

3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.

4 And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?

5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.

6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.

7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.

8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

This Bible passage confirms that the Dragon trusts the Beast of Revelation 13 to do everything the Dragon desires! They both think the same thoughts, persecute God’s people, and have the same character. They have the same goals!

And in verses 7 and 8 of Revelation 13, we see that the Beast wants to wipe out all of God’s people and to overthrow God’s Kingdom!

Does the Beast of Revelation 13 have any “redeeming qualities?” The answer is NO! And what is represented by this Beast? Well, the “little horn” on this Beast represents the office of the papacy! So the Beast itself represents the governments and institutions that have been designed to serve the interests of the papacy on a worldwide scale! And where did the Beast of Revelation 13 get the “model” after which it modeled its identity? That’s right, directly from Satan or the Dragon found in Revelation 12!

Many SDA preachers miss the fact that the two monsters pictured in Revelation 12 and 13 are separate entities! But this fact does NOT weaken the connection between Satan and the papacy! Instead, the connection is made FAR STRONGER! The fact that both have seven heads and ten horns means that while there may be external differences, their character, thoughts, and goals are identical! They are “one” just like a husband and wife are supposed to be “one flesh!”

So, while Revelation clearly states that they are separate entities, it also points out that they might as well be the same because they have the same character, thoughts, and goals! Essentially, the Dragon and the Beast are married!
