The Greatest Commandment | Loving God, Loving Each Other
When we look back at the gift God provided for us by bearing the consequence of sin on our behalf, our longing to express our gratitude will grow. We will tend to wonder, what can I do for Him? Jesus said, if you love me, you will keep my commandments. So, where does one start? A man once asked Jesus a similar question.
What Is The Greatest Commandment?
Teacher, what is the greatest commandment? What better place is there to start obeying God’s law than with the greatest commandment? Jesus answered him, you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it, you shall love your neighbor as yourself.
Two Types of Commandments
The Ten Commandments can be split into two halves, the first four about how to love God, and the remaining six about how to love our neighbors. Jesus’ answer is a perfect summary of God’s love. By loving God, we love others, and by loving others, we love God.
Loving God, Loving Each Other Verse 1 They pushed back from the table to listen to his words, his secret plan before he had to go. It's not complicated, don't need a lot of rules, this is all you need to know. It's loving God, loving each other, making music with my friends. It's loving God, loving each other, and the story never ends. Verse 2 We tend to make it harder, Build steeples out of stone, Fill books with explanations of the way. But if we stop and listen, And break a little bread, We would hear the Master say, It's loving God, loving each other, Making music with my friends. It's loving God, loving each other, And the story never ends. It's loving God, loving each other, Making music with my friends. It's loving God, loving each other, And the story never ends. And the story never ends. No, the story never ends. No, the story never ends.
