Where I Record My Name
I wrote the words to this song a few years ago. The ideas are found in the following Bible references: Exodus 20:24; John 14:12-21; 2 Corinthians 3; 1 Peter 2:4, 5; Revelation 22:2; and Luke 19:37-40.
Another Resource: Acts Of The Apostles
Verse 1: You feel your heart is stone And that you are alone! But I form the hills And appoint them thrones! Chorus: My Word is Living Bread and Water! The Leaves of Life for you to eat! In Living Stones and Living Waters, That’s Where I Record My Name! Verse 2: We stones can cry out loud! Filled with a Mighty Power! You are My letter, Sent to everyone! Chorus: My Word is Living Bread and Water! The Leaves of Life for you to eat! In Living Stones and Living Waters, That’s Where I Record My Name! Verse 3: Yes, you are My Gemstone, A Gem In My Temple! Fitted together, With a family! Chorus: My Word is Living Bread and Water! The Leaves of Life for you to eat! In Living Stones and Living Waters, That’s Where I Record My Name! Verse 4: Let My bright Light fill you! Let My Light flow through you! Then in My Temple, You will shine for Me! Chorus: My Word is Living Bread and Water! The Leaves of Life for you to eat! In Living Stones and Living Waters, That’s Where I Record My Name! Ending: In Living Stones and Living Waters, That’s Where I Record My Name!

Biblical Basis For This Song
24 An altar of earth thou shalt make unto me, and shalt sacrifice thereon thy burnt offerings, and thy peace offerings, thy sheep, and thine oxen: in all places where I record my name I will come unto thee, and I will bless thee.
Exodus 20:24 KJV
This is where I got the name for this song. God keeps track of where He is worshipped! Obviously, He is “recording His name” in the people who worship Him! He is changing their character to be like His!
4 To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious,
5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
1 Peter 2:4, 5 KJV
These two Bible references give a clear foundation for most of the Chorus in this song! We are living stones where God records His name! And the Holy Spirit (in many Bible references referred to as Water) is involved in this recording process!
The Holy Spirit is the One who transforms our character as we submit to His molding! He is also the supplier of the “living water” Jesus mentioned to the Samaritan woman at the well.
2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
Revelation 22:2 KJV
In other words, the leaves of the Tree of Life are NOW for the healing of the nations! And what do we have right now that could be represented by those leaves? The Bible, of course! This is why I chose the words “The Leaves of Life for you to eat!” (see John 6)
